Book Review: Physical Forces (K-9 Rescue #6)

This is a series I am running that is about the various Goodreads First Reads, that I have received. You can check out the other posts in this series here.

I have to start this review by telling you that I have not read any of the other books in this series. If you know me, I don't actually read series, to begin with, let along a series that has six or more books. I might actually go back and read the rest of this series now. I really enjoyed it surprisingly, I really thought I would hate this book. I don't read romance novels much. This book is technically considered romantic suspense, which I didn't even know was a subgenre. It was surprisingly a fascinating one.

This book starts out with an interesting pet detective named Macayla, who subsequently has decided to run away and give up everything in her life. She decides that shes going to find lost pets in order to generate money to live off of. Macyla is actually a social worker, with a past that is about to come back and haunt her.

This guy named Oliver ends just watching her checking out the dumpster, and immediately thinks that shes a homeless woman. He essentually jumps to the wrong conclusion about her.  Due to this he offers her some breakfast. Ultimately our main character also jumps to the wrong conclusion, immediately thinking that he is some kind of stripper. I really enjoy the moral of making wrong assumptions about people. It was also entertaining seeing what happened due to their judgements and the drama that unfolded because of it. This also has so many interplots, so it was rather interesting. The cool thing about Macayla meeting Oliver is actually a worker for BARKS, which is a canine search company.

This is a wonderful little book. Anyone who loves romance and mystery will love many asspects of this book.  Also any dog lover will enjoy the story line. It is a series but really it seemed so much like a stand alone to me.  Fifty points, for having an adorable Tri-Red Australian Shepard on the cover. As the doggie mom of adorable puppies, this fact was like amazing to me.

Disclaimer: I received this book in exchange for my honest and completely unbiased review. All thoughts are my own.
