Lock N Loaded is the first book in the Federal K-9 series. In this book, there are a handful of Alpha male characters and their canines. Each one has a very specific purpose. We meet CIA analyst Trista Gold and CIA K-9 officer Sgt. Matt Connors in this installment of the series.  This story is basically prince charming falls for the average looking girl, and she can't believe it.

The story is fast-paced with very interesting characters. They are well developed and wonderfully described. The book is full of gunfire, dead bodies, fires and tons of lovable animals. There were some very sweet moments that happen throughout the book. In the end, the story wraps up nicely with readers wanting more.

Book Review: Stand Up *Mini Review*

                                                                        MY THOUGHTS ON THE BOOK                                                              

This was such a heartbreaking story for me to read. As a person that has never suffered from the illness described in this book, ​I cannot imagine what the author has gone through. The book was so powerful and moving.

This story is both inspirational and completely powerful. The writing is raw and so gripping. I can’t imagine suffering such a loss to my body. Something I thought I could count on for so many years. The memoir made me cry and laugh at points, it was so emotionally beautiful.

This memoir features the author Ken Cruickshank's real illness. This is a true story of his life and how multiple sclerosis has affected his life. I was so inspired by his writing and will plan on never taking my strong body for granted. This book was eye-opening for me about what people with MS and other chronic illnesses face every day.

This memoir is a must-read for young and old, for those of us that have a loved one facing a chronic illness or have one ourselves. I am so thankful I have this book a chance.

                                                                        MY THOUGHTS ON THE BOOK                                                              

I was originally split on my feelings of this book. While I liked it a lot I just had a few issues with it. Don’t get me wrong, it is a fantastic book it just isn’t from my favorite genre.

There is far too much going on in this book you have genetically engineered humans, evil corporate monopolies, political espionage, and so much more. Eventually, ​the massive web of storylines become too much. I felt like this book could have been split into two different books and they would have been better.

The author has such an ability to write that I can see why there are so many storylines. In the end, everything makes sense but for me, it was just too much to keep up with at points. The story is weaved in such an interesting way. The book feels effortlessly put together.

There are so many good things in this story, so don’t think the story is bad based on what I just said. It is a great book, just I am not the intended audience.

I have to say I was nervous when I first went into this book. For two separate reasons, one being this is a summary of an extremely controversial book and two the fact that this is is a summary. I haven't read anything like it. It was such a good read and a fast read at that.

This book is extremely easy to navigate which is something I love. Each section describes what will be discussed so you can move around the book or just read the topics that you are interested in. This book is well edited and extremely well researched. The author did a great job at condensing such a large text into small little chunks of a summary.

I learned a lot about subjects that have been in the media and learned more about our President, love or hate him. I also enjoyed reading some of the author's​ commentary on the way the book was written! Great book!

                                                                        MY THOUGHTS ON THE BOOK                                                              

 A bit of honesty here, I am in threapy called Dialitical Behavioral thereapy which focuses mainly on mindfuless and meditation. So I thought maybe this book might help me really reach a meditative state. I also listened to the audio book. 

The thought of healing from my tramua caught my eye when browsing through my libraries overdrive system. I really want to feel better about what I went through and move past it, not forget it. So I turned this on and my first thought was "the narration isn't great. guy sounds like a creep but I enjoy the message"

Overall I think it helped me alot. I got past the narrator and really was able to listen and take in the guided meditations. The healing power of love was my favorite part of this meditation. I really took that lesson home with me. I am ever thankful for this book. Also it took me about 4 hours to read and listen to this book, I broke it into 30 min chunks over the course of 8 days.

                                                                        MY THOUGHTS ON THE BOOK                                                              

This is one of the most beautiful childrens book I have ever read. The only encompassing word I could come up with is wonderful. 

The story deals with relevant themes of honoring old ways and also letting go of the past. It also teaches kids how to look forward to the future. 

The cover and artwork are completely marvolus. I can't explain to you how wonderful and magically it is in person.  I believe children will be interested from the very begining with all the pretty colors and having main characters on the front cover. This is something I think is important for children to better understand the story. 

This is the most perfect book for kids, although there is one word used that I disliked. It was the word "Stupid" which I feel is completely unnessicary in childrens litature but that is just me. All in all it is a great story for kids and I hope everyone reads it. 

Book Review: Lucy & Andy Neanderthal (Lucy & Andy Neanderthal #1) *mini review*

                                                                        MY THOUGHTS ON THE BOOK                                                              

I expected to love this book as I just took a biological anthropology class but maybe that why I didn't enjoy it that much. I love graphic novels and I love Neanderthals so I am not sure where things went wrong. 

Lucy &. Andy Neandertal is a super cute graphic novel which makes aspects of evolution easier for kids to understand. I am not going to get into an evolution debate so don't worry. One of the biggest fears I had, when I jumped into this book when I got home from the library, was that it would have Neandertals show in an unfactual light. To my surprise, Author Jeffery Brown worked to prevent that. 

The graphic novel has little short stories from a couple of Neanderthals and actually has facts about how they lived, how the different from us humans, and other fun facts. I thought it was interesting how they were weaved into the storyline of the graphic novel. 

The illustrations are so good and fun. Which is so important in a graphic novel and why I am rating this four stars instead of just two. Now coming to the biggest issue I had with the novel which was the humanization images of Neanderthals. I struggled with that all throughout the book. I just couldn't get past that. I do like that Brown told of the differences but I don't think that made up for the images for me.
